Sun Mingjing,born in 1911 in Nanking,was Prof,of cinematography at the Univ,of Nanking and from 1952 at the Beijing Film Academy ,a traiblazer in China's educational and docuentary film making.He made over 50 films himself and co-produced more than 100 educational films between 1934 and 1947.
From 1938 to 1952 he set up couress on film and radio,and initiated Chinese university film major courses.He also founded the magazine Film and Radio.The courses he set up included“Chinematographic Technology”，“Film and Radio Script Writing，”“Exposure and Sensitivity，”“Film Optics，”“Magnetic Film，”“Technology vs Artistic Expression”and “Recent Development in Chinematic Technology”.
