文摘 Overseas study has its drawbacks.
With the different language and culture，it can be afrustrating and some.times painful experience.Students can suffer from cultural shock.And with noor few.relatives and friends.they can also suffer from enormousloneliness.
The difficulties arefar outweighed by the advantages.
（1）The most obvious advantage to overseas university study is real-lifeuse of different language.While a person can study a foreign language in his orher country.it cannot compare with constant use Ofthe language in academicand everyday life.There is no beer oppo unity to improve English than livingin an English.speaking country.Moreover，having used the language duringone’s studies offers a distinct advantage when one is applying forjobs backhome that require the language.
（2）On a university campus，the foreign student is not alone，n havingcome from far away.He or she will be likely to encounter many others fromoverseas and it is possible to make friends from all around the world.This is notonly exciting on a social level.but also could lead to impo~ant overseas contactin later professional life.
（3）Finally，living and studying abroad offers one a new and different per.spective of the world and，perhaps most impoiant，of one’s own country.Oncebeyond the initial shock of being in a new culture，the student slowly begins toget a meaningful understanding of the host society.On returning home.one.n.evitably sees one’s own country in a new often more appreciative way.
