I don't know what it is about this book, but my very tiny friend just loves it. She insisted on hearing it at least a dozen times in one day (in fairness, I am easy to persuade). She's just under two years old, if that helps other potential buyers.
I got a free paper back of this book when my son was born. I started reading it to him around one year old and he loved it so much we read it until it fell apart. Each page features one animal. We would act out the animals and what the story said about them. That's why I ordered this hard book version. He is two years old now and it is still his favorite book.
This is a fun book but I wish it didn't have a hog. Hogs are gross, and I don't like asking my baby if he's a hog. Otherwise, it's lovely
Mem Fox's words are great, but Steve Jenkins illustrations are really the centerpiece in this board book. He is truly a master at depicting animals in his art. A good variety of wild animals are included and set against a white background they really pop. A great choice for the baby or toddler in your life.
I thought this would be a full-sized book. I don't like reading the small books to children
