I like abridged books for children because it gives them a basic knowledge of the classics. If they like the abridged version they are more likely to read the unabridged version later.

This version is just a precis of the original My father read this story to us kids when we were little. The story was really good. When I saw this online I wanted to read it again. The precis is still a good story, if you have never read the original, but much is missing.

DELIGHTED WITH THE BOOK

We are reading this to my son and he loves that the boys name is the same as his own, Cedric. It is a wonderful story and full of good moral examples.

Nice quick book. Easy to read but you still get the basics of the original story.
