A wonderful reference book that assists parents and teachers in getting better acquainted with the ideas and themes behind the authors` final product. A recommended book for parents and for those of us whose knowledge of children`s literature is not as deep as it should be. This book helps bridge that gap.

Ms. Silvey is widely regarded within the children's publishing industry. She's experienced and knowledgeable. And this book is fun--it shares Best Books but also some fun behind the scenes stories.
I wouldn't mind an update. Great books have been published since this book first came out.

OK, I like books like this one but don't feel that it is as good as it could be! I bought a board book that was in this book that I had never heard of and it was not as good as I thought it should be! It has limited use!

This is a fantastic book for parents looking for books for their children. The best part is the sections in which she recommends the books is entertaining. Good for kids from 2-14. Highly recommended.
