Passage 1:
Ladies and gentlemen, today I would like to devote myself to the topic of globalization. The world is changing rapidly as nations reach out to establish new and expanded commercial relationships to stimulate national growth.\\
International travel is increasingly common, and communications between countries are not only easy but also fast, thanks to the rapid development of modem science and technology.\\
Worldwide financial networks facilitate the movement of currencies across national borders, and
economic relations among nations are becoming a major consideration in foreign-policy-making.\\
With the world economic globalization coming into being, all businessmen with different cultural and traditional backgrounds will share the benefits that modem science and technology have brought them.
Passage 2:
Like many other countries, the number of elderly people in Britain has increased dramatically in the last 15 years and what is disturbing is that many are in urgent need of care, particularly regular medical Care.\\
The high cost of caring for the elderly has put a burden on the government and social services, and they are failing to provide the suitable care for people living in large dries and towns and depressed areas.\\
Charity organizations such as “Help the Aged’’ and “Shelter for the Aged” therefore do a lot to provide care for such people, and thus helping to alleviate the misery that some old people experienced.\\
People in Britain admit that caring for the elderly is a problem which must be given priority. In spite of what has just been said, there are still a terrific number of families who care for their elderly relatives with the proper care and attention required.

Passage 1
China has a vast territory, abundant resources and a long history, (all of which has contributed to so)many places of historic interest and cultural legacy. (That also explains why)China is one of the few countries in the world with rich tourist resources.//
Indeed, China has made great progress in tourism in recent years. However, there exist some unfavorable factors which are hindering the further development of China’s tourist industry.//
These problems boils down to two major ones: the need to improve the quality of service—mainly the quality of software service, and the need to reduce the cost for comprehensive service—mainly the transportation cost such as airline tickets.//
(I think) we call take two steps. The first stage involves improvement and the second stage development. I will elaborate on the concrete measures we’ll take at the meeting this afternoon.

Passage 2:
As you say, China is a big country. However, at present our oil exports ore still very small. We’ve always been supportive of the OPEC countries in their efforts to stabilize world oil prices.\\
I think it is in the interest of all the countries in the world if the OPEC countries come together regularly and discuss how oil prices can be stabilized.\\
Since people here take great interest in China’s oil export policy, I would like to say a few words about it. Our basic policy is still to export limited amount of oil on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, and each supplying the other’s needs.\\
However, with China’s further opening to the outside world, new trade practices will emerge very fast.We will become more flexible in business than before.
