1. 逗号

　　1)在非限制性定语从句中，逗号用来连接主句和从句，表示从句对主句的补充说明或修饰。

　　e.g. Each thread is between 300 and 900 metres long, which means they can be twisted together, dyed and then used to produce cloth in the weaving stage.

　　每条蚕丝都有300米到900米长。这表示它们可以缠绕在一起染色，然后在编织阶段被织成布。

　　分析：在这个句子中，which means这个从句是对前面主句的具体解释，解释蚕丝长度的作用。

　　e.g. They tend to be more independent, which is a very important factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life.

　　他们会变得更独立，这在学术学习和研究中是一个非常重要的因素。并且，他们在面对学生生涯中遇到的各种挑战时也会更有优势。

　　分析：Which is…补充说明了独立的重要性，使得文章内容更具体。

　　2)如果要连接两个完整的句子，逗号前或后要加连词。

　　e.g. While spending increased dramatically for equipment and insurance, there were corresponding drops in expenditure on things such as books and on other workers’ salaries.

　　当设备和保险的花费大幅增长的时候，在书本和其他员工工资上的支出却有相应的减少。

　　分析：While连接了两个完整的句子，使得句子之间有对比之意。

　　e.g. A person needs to feel that they are doing valued and valuable work, so positive feedback from superiors is very important in this respect.

　　员工需要感觉到他们正在做的是受重视的，并且是有价值的工作。所以在这方面，来自主管人员的积极的反馈是非常重要的。

　　分析：So连接两个句子，表示因果关系。

　　3)连接两个句子时，如果前后句子的主语一致，可以在逗号后省去连词及第二句中的主语，并把其中的动词改为ing形式，表伴随状态。

　　e.g. Between these years electricity production almost doubled, rising from 100 units to 170 in Australia, and from 90 to 180 units in France.

　　在这几年间，两个国家的发电量几乎都翻倍了。澳大利亚的发电量从100单位上升至170单位。法国的发电量从90单位上升到180单位。

　　分析：在这个句子中，production almost doubled 是主句，rising这个动词的主语也是production，所以可以省略主语，加逗号，并把动词变为ing形式。

　　2. 引号

　　在剑桥雅思后面所附的考官范文中，有出现过引号的身影。但不建议大家用这个标点。

　　关于字体

　　斜体的用法偶尔可以出现，但它不太常用，一般在提及书名或者电影名字的时候，用斜体表示。
