Symptoms
Database startup fails due to ORA-3113:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

The following error is seen in the alert log:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [4:kgstmLdiToMicroTs],[1], [], [], [], [], [], []


Cause
In this particular case, the system time was incorrect causing time conversion to fail.

Solution
To implement the solution, correct the system time.
