This is my first and probably only review I will ever write but I felt it was necessary for this book.
WARNING there will be some spoilers so don't read on if you haven't read the book yet.
I am a survivor of domestic violence so when I realized that's what this book was about I was hesitant to continue reading. I wasn't sure if I was ready to open my mind to reading someone's perception of what it's like to be in that kind of relationship. I am beyond happy that I kept reading because this book made me feel so many powerful emotions that I cannot explain. This book is amazing. It really captured the love that survivors carry for the abuser even though they know what is happening is wrong. It shows how much more difficult it is to walk away than some people think it is. Before my experience I was one of those people who said "oh I'll just walk away no problem" I never thought it would be so hard. This book highlights the vital importance of understanding all aspects of the situation. I gave this book to every single person in my life and asked them to read it, it was that good in my opinion. I have now reread this novel 4 times and will probably read it at least 10 more times. I cannot say enough good things about it.
Probably my favorite book of all time.
